Privacy Policy
This policy describes how PageCrave ("the app", "we") handles information when you use our serialized-fiction reading application. The operator of the app is the developer identified on the app's Google Play store listing.
1. What we collect
PageCrave works without an account. We collect the minimum needed to run the service:
- Guest device identifier. On first launch the app generates a random device instance ID so our server can create a guest account. This ID is not derived from your hardware serial, Google account, or any real-world identity.
- Reading activity. Your reading progress, library (bookshelf) entries, bookmarks, and chapter-unlock history, so your reading state follows you across sessions.
- Coin wallet ledger. Server-side transaction records of coin claims, chapter unlocks, and corrections. Coins are virtual, cannot be purchased, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Consent records. If a consent prompt applies in your region, we store a receipt of the choice you made.
2. What we do not collect
- No name, email address, or phone number is required to read.
- No payment or financial information — there is no in-app purchase in this version.
- No advertising identifiers, no advertising SDK, and no behavioral analytics. The app currently shows no ads at all.
- No precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera data.
Google sign-in: the app includes a Google sign-in option that is not currently enabled. If we enable it in a future version, signing in would share your Google account's basic profile (such as your email address) with us solely to create and secure your PageCrave account. This policy will be updated before that happens.
3. How we use information
- To provide the core service: serving chapters, restoring your reading progress, and keeping your coin balance and unlock entitlements consistent.
- To operate the free-coin system fairly (daily claim limits, idempotent transaction processing, fraud and abuse prevention).
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Where data is processed
Data is stored and processed on servers operated by our cloud hosting provider. Depending on where you live, this may involve transferring your information to a country other than your own. We apply the same protections described in this policy wherever the data is processed.
5. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored data, including access controls on our servers and separating account data from minimal audit records. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; if you delete the app without linking an account, your guest data cannot be recovered by you.
6. Your choices: export and deletion
- Export your data. You can request an export of your reading and wallet data from within the app (Me → Privacy & account → Export data). Exports are prepared on our server and downloaded through a time-limited link.
- Delete your account. You can delete your account in the app (Me → Settings → Privacy & account → Delete account). Deletion anonymizes your account and removes your library, reading progress, bookmarks, unlock logs, and consent records. A minimal, non-identifying audit record may be retained where required for fraud prevention or legal compliance, and encrypted backups are purged on their normal rotation cycle.
- Web requests. If you cannot access the app, you can request export or deletion through the contact channel in section 8, providing your guest device ID shown in the app. See our data deletion page for step-by-step instructions.
7. Children's privacy
PageCrave is intended for readers aged 18 and over and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Contact
For privacy questions, export, or deletion requests, email us at xiezimeng888@gmail.com. This address is also shown as the contact email on our Google Play store listing and is the authoritative support channel for this app. Deletion requests can also be made through our data deletion page.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy — for example before enabling Google sign-in, advertising, or in-app purchases — we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's store listing disclosures.
